Description
1923 and 1928 United States Silver Certificates - "Shrinking Dollar"Bet you didn't know the United States printed larger sized United States currency at one time? This collection contains both examples (1923 and 1928 United States Silver Certificates) and both the front and backs can be seen.
Look at the similarities in designs.
NO tape, glue or adhesives were used in the mountings, so these notes will maintain their condition. The paper money is archivally framed with no tapes, glues or adhesives touching the notes.
And the backs are fully visible as well. The paper money can easily be removed anytime without any damage.
From 1961 to 1923, the United States printed larger size currency for people to spend. After 1923, the U.S. reduced the size of the paper money to what it is today. This was done to save on printing costs and allow ease of carrying. Both notes are still legal tender and very similar in design.
The larger currency note is a silver certificate from 1923 whereas the smaller currency note is a silver certificate from 1928.
Can you imagine the size of this wallet?
These notes are mounted where the float within the opening and the backs are fully visible. All items can be easily removed from frame. These notes have been 100% museum grade framed with all the proper reversible methods including 99% UV filtered plexiglass by Tru Vue, a renowned framing glass manufacturer, 100% cotton rag matting and backing and archival coroplast final backing.
Again, no tapes, glues, or adhesives were used in the mounting of these notes.
In 1989, when other framing businesses he patronized failed to meet his expectations for true conservation framing, Rick started his framing business, known as Museum Framing, to properly frame his collection and inventory. He believed that framing should be performed according to strict preservation standards using archival techniques and materials.
Shortly after, he offered his services to other dealers and collectors he met and knew through is collecting circles. In addition to dealers and collectors, Museum Framing also frames for museums, galleries, federal and state government agencies and the public. Please check our framing reviews of "Museum Framing" under Yelp and Google.
Rick started as a collector in 1974, then a dealer in 1981 and, eventually, owning an archival framing business since 1989.
Recently, he started,
Frameabilia
, where Rick added his original passion of framing and selling historical artifacts (ancient coins, historical documents, antique maps, collectible currency) to his current framing business.
