Large Antique Low Brow china head doll “Helen”

Large Antique low brow china head doll “Helen”. Condition is "Used". This large China head doll is approximately 24 inches in length. She is heavy and it feels as though her body is stuffed with maybe kapok stuffing. She must have been something when she was new. She has a pet name, “ Helen”, which can be read on the front of her breast plate. On the back of it reads “patent applied for”. Her hair is blond and her eyes are blue, all painted China. The head and breast plate are without damage. The body once had an elaborate dress but it was completely disintegrated and non-salvageable. I had to remove it and you can see remnants of where it was glued to her breast plate and cloth body. I did salvage, though, the brass beads at the waist and the big loopy navy blue bow on the back . I stuffed the bow with tissue to keep it poofy. Her hands and feet are so charming and unusual…completely intact and made of wood. Look at her hands…little spoon shapes. The dress is a heavy satin brocade that is lined. She wears matching pantalets. I had this dress and pantalets made by a professional doll dress maker. . It’s so hard to capture in the pictures how big she is. The head and breast plate itself is very heavy. She would stand roughly 24 inches tall. Please keep that in mind when looking at the pictures because it’s hard to tell if you’re not looking at her in person. I hope you enjoy looking at the pics of her.
